Trump's Organization Sought to Bring In Almost 200 Employees on Visas in 2025

Donald Trump’s corporate entity increased its hiring of foreign workers on temporary visas this period, even as his government was creating barriers for other businesses attempting to do the same, a report published Thursday stated.

Based on data from the federal labor department, the business aimed to bring in at least 184 overseas employees in 2025 for temporary positions at the US president’s Florida property, golf facilities and his Virginia winery.

The number of requests for temporary work visas covering workers including servers, clerks, housekeepers, culinary employees and agricultural laborers was the record filed by the organization, and increased from 121 in the previous term, when his presidency concluded.

It was also the fifth instance in a decade that the former president had sought to hire over a hundred foreign employees for seasonal jobs at Mar-a-Lago, based on labor statistics.

The disclosure comes amid a tightening on legal immigration by his government that has involved the implementation of a $100,000 fee on H1-B visas; increased review of the activities of the 55 million people who possess American work permits; and restrictive new rules for international scholars and reporters.

Overall, the business sought to employ 566 overseas workers over the period the former president has been in the White House, from his first term and during 2025.

Significantly, Trump was questioned by some in the GOP this period for comments justifying the need for overseas employees when a company was unable to find people with “specific talents” to fill certain positions.

“You can’t just say a nation is entering, going to spend billions to construct a facility, and going to recruit individuals off an unemployment line who haven’t worked in years, and they’re going to start making their defense systems. It doesn’t work that well,” he stated to a host after it was implied that overseas employees undercut the pay of American employees.

The administration refused a inquiry for response, and the business did not immediately respond to an inquiry.
