It's tough for the Australian squad to break new ground.

The greatest achievements have long been mastered.

This is the squad that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, along with six more T20 titles, and earlier maintained 1,294 days unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, targeted by the record chasers, are what's still available for a team that has won it all.

It needed up to Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase over 300, regaining their record for the largest in the women's 50-over format, is, in truth, a compliment to the bowling attack that have worn canary yellow over the past 50 years.

It's challenging for their hitters to possess a record if never given the opportunity.

That loss "drove us to reevaluate our levels," Healy stated recently.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the championship match and was named player of the tournament. She guaranteed her country would not fail again.

If this recent magnificent innings topped that previous effort remains open for discussion.

Certain people claim the case for the pressure of a final. Different voices suggest with the difficulty that comes when confronting a historic chase and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's definite is this century was far harder to predict.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 occurred when she was the highest scorer, but this performance came after six matches in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've been watching me in the nets, it was a challenging time because it seemed I've had no rhythm at all," commented Healy.

"An opportunity to go out there and engage in competition with her and just have a bit of fun in that regard, kind of motivated me," stated Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 pitches - her swiftest at the global tournament - and her century in 84 as she flogged anything short, hitting 21 fours and three big hits.

When she was removed her side required another 66 at run per delivery - an unconquered height now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"To chase 330 is uncharted waters so I am glad we have the belief to do that now," added Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to repeat it but, if necessary, we know we can do it."

Those words will be the ultimate thing rival teams at this tournament need to hear.

Over the past five days a belief they will triumph from any situation has grown stronger - this triumph succeeding success over Pakistan by 107 runs despite struggling at 76-7 at one stage.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before an encounter with traditional opponents England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final berth may probably be guaranteed.

It was at that stage they were eliminated from the previous year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - an encounter Healy was absent due to ruptured tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the inaugural occasion at a significant event.

So great is her will, she subsequently stated she regretted not playing through the pain.

Yet even as she subsequently acknowledged those fitness problems have delayed thoughts of retirement, this championship is likely to be her final tournament as skipper in one-day cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a world championship as leader.

Success in India would bring her to the top of her ultimate challenge.
